Refers to the code requirements of the International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings 2006. Traditionally this refers to wood frame construction not more than three stories in height.

Refers to the code requirements of the International Building Code 2006. This code covers the requirements for construction of all buildings except one and two family dwellings.

Portions of the code will be updated in the 2009 edition due in January 2009. Included in the code changes will be a section specifically related to EIFS. Until all jurisdictions have adopted the new code EIFS will continue to be evaluated by the International Code Council - Evaluation Services (ICC-ES). Refer to the ICC-ES Evaluation report for each system selected for any specific limitations.
